How to Show Up For Your Kids When the Weight of the World is On Your Shoulders

The heaviness of last few weeks hasn’t gone anywhere. And, while that's pretty difficult to deal with, I'm glad this wasn't just a trend that went away as soon as it turned into a new week. I am hoping and praying that everyone that has jumped in the fight for anti-racism in America is in it to win it for the long haul. Which means, this is just the beginning.

Of course, I don't wish for the initial, intense heaviness, anger, and grief to stay. Soon, we need to move forward from grief to healing and from anger to making change. I believe that is slowly happening.

However, let's not forget that our mission at home is still very much an active, ongoing mission that takes most, if not all, of our energy on a daily basis. Motherhood is hard enough on a "normal" day. When you add the weight of the global crises on our shoulders, it can feel impossible to show up for our kids and keep that same energy we do on a normal basis.

Today, on the Mission Motherhood podcast, this is exactly what we are talking about.

How to show up for our kids when the weight of the world is on our shoulders.

This is a heavier episode than normal, but the heaviness is warranted. Things are still really hard right now, but they will get better

If showing up for your kids is tough right now, then this episode is for you.

Anytime we go through crisis, whether personal or global, we go into survival mode, which makes any task outside of the bare minimum feel nearly impossible to complete.

So, whether you're dealing with the current national and global crises or you're dealing with a personal matter, this episode will help you cope with your emotions, tend to your needs, give yourself grace, and continue to show up for your kids in the way they need you to the most.
